Why Believe

Why You're Worth It

Why Believe?

People are always saying things like “You gotta believe in yourself” but no one ever tells you why.
You have to believe you can have the life you want so you will SEE opportunities that will take you there. Sure you can stumble across the right path at the right time. You can even be led there by others, but it doesn’t always seem so easy. Why?

We get what we want when we’re ready for it. Whether it’s a satisfying new career, a wonderful relationship, or a loan on the house, it seems to me that these things come when it’s time. But too often we run out of patience and fear that this is all there is. We lose hope, take what we can get, and no longer strive for the life we really want.
Sometimes it’s a matter of waiting. Now that’s a test in itself! If we can stay on that path with our goal in sight and wait for the right opening to come along, knowing it will, then we can pass by those people and situations that we know are not right for us. We won’t settle.

Occasional compromise is one thing. A life of compromises is constantly tolerating less.

So if we truly believe - or are even willing to believe - that we can achieve a specific goal, then our minds are more likely to see opportunities, no matter how diverse, in getting there. It may not be a flying leap; it might be one step that leads to another. But we’re far more able to see, hear, or feel it when we absolutely believe it’s there. It just hasn’t clicked yet.

Think of casting your line in a lake hoping to catch a fish. You don’t know if you will or not but you sure would like to, so you cast your line with the best intentions.

Ask yourself: Do you believe that you can catch a fish? Do you believe that you deserve to catch a fish, or have you been feeling that you never get what you want anyway? If some part of you feels unable and undeserving, then it’s very likely you will sabotage your best fishing efforts. How? By choosing a lake that has no fish, by not using any bait, by not working hard enough for something you don’t think you can get anyway.
Maybe you won’t even try.

Whether it's fishing or a career change, you have to want it and believe in your ability to make it happen.
Believe in your own destiny. Not in a place you are expected to appear one day but simply in a journey that you are uniquely qualified to walk. Get to know yourself, truly. Acknowledge the experiences and skills that have gotten you this far. Then direct your attention and energy to that goal you so desperately want to achieve - believing you can. Believe that the steps you take are getting you closer. Believe that you probably wouldn’t even want it if you weren’t qualified to do it.

Feel that belief rustle every cell in your being in anticipation and an increased awareness to all the possibilities available to help you get that very thing you want; that place you want to be in life.

Believe it with all your heart so you will hear opportunity knock,
feel the tingle of unlimited potential,
and see the next step when it lights.
