A volunteer-driven organization with a team composed of people from various places around the United States, Australia, Europe and the UK offering resources and forums where adult survivors of child abuse and their loved ones can seek support.

Help for Adult Victims of Child Abuse

International organization run by volunteers to provide help, support and information to any adult suffering from past childhood abuse. Lots of articles on issues affecting survivors.


Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline

1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for crisis intervention, information, literature, and referrals.

Boys Town National Hotline

1-800-448-3000.  Offers crisis, resource and referral for both child and adults (male and female) 24/7, 365 days a year. Some reasons to call: depression, suicide, abuse, addiction, gang violence, fighting with a friend or parent, or faced with an overwhelming challenge.

National Domestic Violence Hotline

1-800-799-7233 (799-SAFE)  24/7 Provides crisis intervention, information and referral to victims of domestic violence, perpetrators, friends and families.  


National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

1-800-273-8255 (273-TALK)  24/7 Available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Your call will be routed to the crisis center nearest you.


Vibrant Health Happiness

A resource from Don and Tori Fiore on health, happiness, meditation, movement, personal growth, relationships and more! Their 

TaiChi includes sample practice sessions in Tai Chi and Qigong with a link to over 100 videos on their You Tube channel. This 8 minute video, Tai Chi for Beginners, has almost 3 million hits!


Helping people understand, prevent, and resolve life's challengee. Their site is devoted to expert, unbiased articles that are easy to read, ad-free, and helpful.


Drug Rehab

This site provides researched, fact-based resources for free. Learn about the risks of various substances including prescription drugs, the latest approaches to treatment and real stories of recovery. Here are just three examples of some good reads: Are you helping or enabling under the Active Recovery tab, Co-occurring disorders and PTSD and Addiction, under the Addiction tab. The articles are written in plain language making them easy to understand.

American Addiction Centers

The largest network of rehab centers in the U.S., located in 7 states. "Our purpose and passion is to empower you, your family, and your community by helping you achieve recovery and optimal wellness of the mind, body, and spirit." The rehab-guide page has lots of info, such as: detailing different types of rehab, questions to ask a provider, other supporting resources (ex. holistic options, co-dependent relationships, etc.).

Recovery Village

With several treatment facilities, they offer "Top of the line medical care, combined with wellness programs and holistic addiction treatments such as yoga and meditation, massage and equine resources mean we are dedicated to healing the whole self." The site provides lots of info, but the following link focuses on teen abuse and addiction issues, including peer pressure and signs to look for.

Only research-based organization working within the media and entertainment industry to engage, educate, and influence the need for gender balance.


Ms Magazine
Award-winning magazine recognized nationally and internationally as the media expert on issues relating to women’s status, women's rights, and women's points of view.


The Shriver Report
A multi-platform project of A Woman’s Nation ™ — a nonprofit media initiative that informs, inspires and imagines new way forward for women and men.


5th World Conference on Women
A clearing house of information and grassroots activism opportunities for those who support and wish to advocate for a United Nations sponsored 5th World Conference on Women.


Campaign for US Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

The CRC is a document drafted to promote and protect the well-being of all children. The US Campaign is dedicated to ratification by the US and implementing this human rights treaty.

Random Acts of Kindness Foundation

Provides free educational and community ideas, guidance, and other resources to inspire peope to practice kindness.

A project of Action Without Borders and an interactive site where people and organizations can exchange resources and ideas, locate opportunities and supporters, and take steps toward building a world where all people can lead free and dignified lives.


Womens Law
Easy to understand legal information and resources for women living with or escaping domestic violence or sexual assault. Lots of information and an email hotline.


The US government's web portal to all federal, state, and local government web resources and services. Check it out! You may be two clicks away from getting information you need on a variety of subjects.
