Inspired!

I always thought something would happen to get the world's attention, urging everyone to recognize our interconnectedness and, therefore, our collective and individual compassion, creativity, and potential. I thought it might be a meteor streaming our way. I know that sounds like something out of an adventure movie, but I never thought of this, yet here we are. Scary, sure, if we let it be. And if it starts to be, remember to let it pass. Fear is simply reminding you to be safe, not to paralyze you. (Click here for 5 Steps to Release Frantic Energy.) On that note, the world is filled with remarkable people just like you. Read on for just some of the proof of who we are.

United Nations Call for a Global Cease Fire

Lighten Up!

I love holiday lights, inside and out. They always seem magical and offer hope and hints of possibilities.

So I lit up a tree in our front yard. It makes me smile when I see it and I'm hoping it will be a surprise and a delight to every passerby.

My daughter added a fun thought. What if people put up random decorations? Air-filled snowmen, pumpkins, sparkly ornaments hung from trees and fences, ribbon covered poles... I like it! In this time of physical distance, we can still brighten the neighborhood, encourage hope and trust, and send our best wishes. =)

Proof of our potential

According to an article on ABC News, Italians are showing their solidarity by singing, hanging their national flag, banging on pans, playing musical instruments all at the stroke of 6pm every day. Check out this video. I love what starts around the 1:11 mark and returns for the big finish near the end.

And it's not just in Italy. CommonDreams shares more videos from Italy, Lebanon, Spain, and China in a "triumph of spirit."
